Dorset Communities Living Sustainably Monitoring & Evaluation: Climate Change Adaptation Strand 1. Overall aim: To improve the resilience of vulnerable communities and industries in Dorset to the future challenges posed by climate change. 2. 3. Specific aims: To increase awareness around the potential impact of climate change within vulnerable communities and the local fishing and farming industries. To increase understanding of possible options for action to minimise and/ or avoid the impact of climate change within vulnerable communities and the local fishing and farming industries. To increase the number of climate change adaptations being implemented within vulnerable communities and the local fishing and farming industries. To increase cooperative working between local agencies and organisations around climate change adaptations. Objectives: To provide training on climate change and group facilitation To run scenario planning workshops. To disseminate written information on the impact of climate change and possible adaptations. To present information on the impact of climate change and possible adaptations at events and conferences. To involve volunteers in climate change adaptation activities This strand of work contributes to the following CLS outcomes: Outcome 1: Communities better understand the impacts of climate change on their local area and know how to live more sustainably. Outcome 5: Groups and organisations work better together, providing a consistent message about sustainability and demonstrating strong local leadership.
