Graduation Assignment ProFit – Expressing fun. User Experience

Graduation Assignment ProFit – Expressing fun. User Experience Kiosk for
the Delft Fieldlab
Introduction
A field-lab for sport innovation is a research and development location in a real-life
setting where citizens engage in sports and play activities. Businesses can install new
product prototypes or production models in the field-lab where the end-users can use
and test them. Field-labs will be developed in four European cities: Eindhoven (Nl), Delft
(Nl), Kortrijk (Be) and Sheffield (UK). The field-lab in Delft is targeted on children and
elderly, with the focus on them being active together.
In order to test the new prototypes a structure of cameras and sensors will be
assembled in each field-lab to measure different kind of data. But next to these physical
measurements, user experience is an important factor. What do people think about the
prototype? What can be improved? This kind of information will be collected via a kiosk,
which is a physical structure including a computer and display screen. The kiosk lets
users interact via a touch screen, sound and motion video. But how can we measure
the user experience of these prototypes via a kiosk?
Assignment
Design a way to measure the product experience of children (and possibly other target
groups) via a kiosk.
ProFit
ProFit is funded by the European Union, under the Interreg IVB North West Europe
programme. The ProFit project combines technology, sports and health through the
development of sport field-labs (www.profitproject.org).
Profile
Due to research with children a Dutch-speaking student is preferred.
You will dive into literature, create a feasible set of parameters/criteria but also execute
hands-on, on the spot testing with children.
A (draft) paper is a deliverable of the project.
