Regulation
1) Competition will take place in Monza, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th April 2017.
2) Only pianists born after 26th April 1991 can be admitted to the competition.
3) Candidates must send their application form, duly filled in, to the Associazione Musicale
Kreisleriana either by e-mail ([email protected]) or registered letter (c/o Ani
Martirosyan via Carlo Perini 20, 20157 Milan, Italy) no later than 31st March 2017
(postmark deadline), enclosing the following documents:
a. a copy of the candidate’s passport;
b. curriculum vitae;
c. programme and duration of each piece;
d. a copy of the receipt of Application Fee payment of € 80 (eighty) by bank transfer
addressed to: ASSOCIAZIONE MUSICALE KREISLERIANA, BANCA CREDITO
VALTELLINESE, IBAN: IT 23 G 05216 01614 000000007590, SWIFT/BIC:
BPCVIT2S.
The Associazione Musicale Kreisleriana will confirm the receipt of the application form.
4) Candidates will not be admitted unless payment and documents referred to in art. 3 have
been received by Associazione Musicale Kreisleriana. Eligible candidates are not refunded
the Application Fee in case of their inability to participate to the Competition.
5) Candidates can change their programme only before 26th April 2017, after prior
communication to the Associazione Musicale Kreisleriana.
6) Before the first round, candidates must provide documents proving their identity (ID or
passport) to the secretary of the Competition.

7) The jury comprises renowned instrumentalists, piano teachers, musicologists and
musicians. The jury selection is at the incontestable discretion of the Associazione Musicale
Kreisleriana.
8) The decisions of the jury are final and not subject to review or appeal. The jury reserves the
right to stop the contestant during his/her performance if necessary. The jury may share the
grants among candidates, and may also decide not to award any prize if no candidate is
deemed worthy.
9) All performances are open to the public and must be given by heart.
10) Students of the members of the jury cannot take part in the competition.
11) The organizing committee may cancel the competition in case of too few entries. Candidates
will be promptly informed no later than 7th March 2017, and the Application Fee refunded.
12) Program order of the rounds will be drawn by lots on 27th April, 8.30 am. Pianos will be
available for rehearsal.
13) Entering the Competition means accepting this Regulation and any changes made by the
artistic direction and the organizing committee.
14) No financial claim can be advanced to Associazione Musicale Kreisleriana in case of audio or
video recordings of the competition or of the winners’ concert.
15) At the end of the competition, all candidates will be given a certificate of attendance. Grants
will be awarded during the awards ceremony. More details will be provided.
16) The winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) must take part in the final concert, under penalty of the
withdrawal of the grant.
17) Associazione Musicale Kreisleriana is not responsible for any injury or damage to the
candidates during the competition.
18) Travel and accommodation are at the contestant’s own expense.
19) The Court of Milan has jurisdiction over any controversies.
20) In case of divergence of interpretation, the Italian version of this Regulation shall
prevail over the English version.
Rounds schedule
27th and 28th April: ELIMINATORY ROUND. Max duration: 20'. One study, one prelude and fugue
from The Well-Tempered Clavier by J. S. Bach, and a first movement of a Sonata by W. A. Mozart.
29th and 30th April: FINAL ROUND. Max duration: 50’. Max 8 contestants. Free program (pieces
of the eliminatory round not allowed).
30th April (evening): AWARDS CEREMONY AND WINNERS’ CONCERT
Grants
1st Place: € 1.000 and the possibility to perform a concert in the context of Associazione Musicale
Kreisleriana Season 2018.
2nd Place: € 500 and the possibility to to perform a concert in the context of Associazione Musicale
Kreisleriana Season 2018.
3rd Place: € 400.
Further grants can be awarded upon decision of the jury. For the concerts of Associazione
Musicale Kreisleriana in 2018, musicians are only entitled an amount of money to cover expenses
up to € 300.
