Directions to High Trenhouse

BY RAIL
Travelling by rail is a convenient way to reach High Trenhouse. We are a 15 minute taxi ride
from Settle (Leeds-Carlisle) or Giggleswick (Leeds-Lancaster) railway stations, or 30
minutes from Skipton which has frequent connections with Leeds. Taxis may not be available
unless booked in advance. We will be glad to arrange these for you.
BY ROAD
FROM M1 (Total time from M1, approximately 1¼ hours)
Follow signs to Leeds City Centre. Under railway enter City Square and bear right for 'All Loop
Traffic' and then pick up the A660 to SKIPTON.
FROM A1 (Total time from A1, approximately 1¼ hours)
Southbound - via Ripon A61 to Harrogate and A59 to SKIPTON.
Northbound - via Wetherby and A661 to Harrogate then A59 to SKIPTON.
AFTER SKIPTON (14 miles, approximately ½ hour)
Take the A65 towards Kendal. After 4 miles turn right at Gargrave for Malham. Continue
through Airton and Kirkby Malham, then keep left through Malham up the steep hill. After
three miles of single track moorland road (no buildings, no junctions) you reach a
crossroads (small sign). Continue straight on and High Trenhouse is on your left, due west
of Malham Tarn.
FROM MANCHESTER VIA M62 (Total time from M62, approximately 1 hour)
Leave at J18 onto M66 then A56 via Haslingden to M65. Leave at J13 Barrowford and follow A682
into Gisburn. Turn right onto A59 then left back onto A682. Follow to end, turn left onto A65, follow
for 3 miles then right onto B6480 into SETTLE.
FROM M6 (Total time from M6, approximately 1 hour)
Southbound - Leave at J36 onto A65 to SETTLE.
Northbound - Leave at J31. Turn right onto A59 (signposted Clitheroe), follow for 22 miles into
Gisburn. then left at mini rounabout onto A682 (signposted Settle). At end turn left onto A65, follow
for 3 miles then right onto B6480 into Settle
AFTER SETTLE (5 miles, approximately 10 minutes)
Leave Settle on the Hawes road (B6479). After one mile take a right turn through the
village of Langcliffe, signposted to Malham. Go up the steep hill and follow the single track
road for four miles. As you drop down again onto Malham Moor look out for a right fork
towards Malham. Bear right, then half a mile to a minor crossroads (small sign). Turn left
and High Trenhouse is on the left.
