This issue has been deferred to the JAG meeting, but may also be an issue for the strategy meeting. ISO/TC 211 strategy Should ISO/TC 211 revise its strategi on what kind of standards that should be worked out? Does ISO/TC 211 need (to influence) standards like OWS, or should we leave such standards to OGC? STATENS KARTVERK Potential NWIP’s During the discussions on Portrayal, two potential work items were proposed: ISO 19117 Part 2 – Portrayal Service ISO 19117 Part 3 – Finishing rules Both Portrayal Service and Finishing Rules are outside the scope of ISO 19117 revision 1. WG4 welcomes NWIP’s on these issues. Symbol is part of the portrayal object type Requirement is key to portrayal, in scope of 19117 How to do these functions outside scope of 19117 Schema to schema mapping should be addressed in a different standard since it is not unique to portrayal ISO 19117 will have an extension and conformance level for “rules-based mapping” People can use it but it’s not the only way to map features to portrayal objects STATENS KARTVERK ISO/TC 211 Geographic information/Geomatics PT 19125 Simple Feature Access – Part 1 – Common Architecture Part 2 – SQL option Presentation at the plenary meeting in Molde 2009-05-28 Morten Borrebæk Convenor WG4 STATENS KARTVERK PT ISO 19125 – Simple feature Project leader (and editor) : John Herring Result of systematic review: Resolution 414 Registration of new projects ISO/TC 211 confirms that the following projects have been approved by the ISO/TC 211 members and shall be added to the programme of work: New project (Stage 20.20): 19125-1 Geographic information – Simple feature access – Part 1: Common architecture New project (Stage 20.20): 19125-2 Geographic information – Simple feature access – Part 2: SQL Option Project Leader for both projects is Dr. John R.
