WELCOME BACK NEWSLETTER!!!
PRINCIPAL’S WELCOME
September 5, 2014
Dear Joyceville Community,
I would like to take this time to extend the warmest of welcomes to all of the students, parents and staff
of Joyceville Public School. Our school is a wonderful place to be and we are so excited to be working
closely with our parents and community to ensure our students have a highly successful school year!
Our dedicated team has been in school throughout the summer cleaning, preparing classrooms,
organizing resources, and gathering information about student needs. We are very fortunate to have
such a dynamic group of people working with us every day to help meet the goals for our students.
Please do not hesitate to call us when you feel the need to share information, ideas or concerns. It is
our belief that effective communication between home and school helps to ensure student success.
Our school is always looking for volunteers. If you think you have time that you could spare working in
our school in a variety of capacities please call me in the office. Parents will require a CPIC when
working in our schools, but are valid for 3 years. Thanks for considering!!
On a personal note I am thrilled to be back at Joyceville Public School for a fifth year and look forward to
working with the community. Our goals continue to be the same; we will strive to build upon the
initiatives and successes we enjoyed last year to ensure we are doing all we can for our students. If at
any time you wish to meet in person to discuss anything school related please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
Scott Morency

New--- Safe Arrival Program
As part of the Ontario government’s Safe Welcome program, within the next 6-8 months all elementary
schools in the Limestone District School Board will be moving to secure access where all doors to the
school will be locked during the school day when students are inside. Parents/Guardians are still
welcome to access the building, but the Safe Welcome Program does alter how you access the school
during the school day. The secure access measures are as follows:
- All outside doors will be locked during the school day when students are inside the building
- All visitors to the school will enter through the front door
- All visitors will need to ring the buzzer when they arrive and a staff member will assist you
We thank you for your cooperation and support as we begin implementation on this provincial
initiative. you have any questions or concerns, please contact the main office and ask to speak to the
principal.
Parent Council will hold its first

6:00pm in Room 1. All parents are
welcome!!! Parent Council is a
wonderful way to stay involved in
our community school. Please don’t
hesitate to call the office should you
have any questions.
