Write the numerals at the end of the even numbers. Which other

Homework Term 4 Week 1 Year 1
Dear Parents/ Children,
This week I would like you to practise your spellings at least 4 times, to help with your writing. Remember
to only do one column on each day. If you run out of space, practise writing them in your book as someone
calls them out to you.
Phonics
To support phonics work in school, you all need to practise reading the phonemes on your flashcards
regularly, to help you identify and use them when spelling and reading.
All Year 1 children in schools in England take a phonics screening test towards the end of the year, which is
set by the Department for Education. This tests your child’s use of their phonic skills to decode real and
‘alien’ (pseudo)words. Applying their skills is the best way of learning, particularly reading regularly. If you
would also like to play some phonics games online, have a look at the sites below:

Maths
This week we have been learning to recognise odd and even numbers. The activities set will support this
learning. Sharing between 2 people or pairing socks is a good way to determine whether a number is odd
or even; If odd, there is one left over-an ‘odd’ one. When they have completed the task:
Write the numerals at the end of the even numbers.
