Summer Junior Golf Camp This summer, Bretwood will set the bar with junior golfers. In addition to our weekly golf clinic, Junior Golf League, we will offer weekly Summer Junior Camps. The focus will be on introducing golf to kids through skill building games, fun friendly team completion and on course management. This is a great summer activity to meet new friends and develop a life long sport. Advanced camps will address more course time and video / course management. Camp During the 2016 summer months Bretwood will host 7 junior golf camp clinics. The focus of the camps will be to introduce kids to golf through skill-building, friendly team competitions, and instruction on course management and etiquette. Advanced classes are geared toward a serious child that wants assistance with scoring and course management. It's a great summer activity to meet new friends and develop a life-long sport. The camps are for junior golfers ages 7 to 14, advanced group classes should attract older kids from 10-16 with beginner to intermediate skill level. Kids must be able to walk while playing. Clubs are required, but reservations are available in advance. Sessions will run once a minimum of 5 kids are signed up. The maximum for each session will be 10 kids. Camp #2: July 4-7 Camp #3: July 11-14 (advanced class) Camp #4: July 18-21 (advanced class, more course management.) Typical daily format: Monday 3:00 pm – 3:45 pm Inside introduction meet kids, go over the week ahead. 3:45 pm – 4:30 pm Walk a hole and introduce basics of course. (Green, bunker, fairway, rough, pin, golf etiquette and basic rules.) 4:30 pm – 5:45 pm short game focus. (Putting, chipping, Tuesday 12:30-12:45 Meet and head to first station 12:45-1:45 Putting and chipping exercises 1:45-2:00 Break, water, snack 2:00-3:00 Full swing 3:00-4:00 On course play (two clubs, putter and iron) team games 4:00-4:15 Summary and end Day 1 goal meet new friends, introduce basic swing movement patter/balance course strategies Wednesday 12:30-12:45 Meet and head to first station 12:45-1:45 Full swing focus, distance control/awareness. 1:45-2:00 Break, water, snack 2:00-3:00 Chipping /pitching, different club choices, ¼, ½, ¾ swing shots 3:00-4:0 On course play (three clubs, wood, putter and iron) team games 4:00-4:15 Summary and end Day 2 goals… kids are introduced to distance requirements and apply them to course. Thursday 12:30-12:45 Meet and head to first station 12:45-1:15 Full swing warm up 1:15-3:00/3:30 On course play, 3 hole tournament 3:30-4:00 Summary of week Tournament goal for the day is course etiquette and team competition
