Class 1 – “Material of a high level of photometric performance
and long service durability (generally 10 years)”.
Class 1A – “Material of a very high level of photometric
performance and a standard level of service durability

Class 1W – “Material of a high level of photometric
performance, especially at large to extreme entrance and

Summary
Reflective Products Division
• Class 1A and 1W are both superior performing retroreflective films.
• Although Class 1W provides between
200% and 400% improvement to Class 1 at
wide observation angles, it is an
improvement of a very low level of retro
reflectivity.
• At the point of wide observation, over
90% of photometric performance has been
lost, due to being too close to the sign.
• Wide observation angles occur very close to the sign.
