POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Senior Floor Layer Non-Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Classified F (Skilled Trades) JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for executing skilled general maintenance tasks such as laying carpet, installing vinyl title and vinyl wall covering. YEARLY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: PERCENT OF TIME 1. Installs new carpet, vinyl flooring and vinyl wall covering. 60% 2. Cleans used carpet in order to be re-used, assists in cleaning areas where carpet or vinyl has been installed and repairs existing vinyl floors. 10% 3. Drives vehicle to transport equipment or supplies to different campuses. 10% 4. Operates, cleans and maintains tools and equipment for floor and carpet laying, wall covering and vinyl floor covering, 5% 5. Performs other duties as assigned. 15% REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Construction Manager SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No direct supervision; work lead responsibilities only. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: None ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Completion of high school or equivalent and completion of trade school or specialized training. EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years.
