Potential Roles of a Team Manager
Note: the coach may decide to assume some of these responsibilities; up to him/her
A. Organize the team finances
a. Collect all fees at beginning of each season – field usage, ref, uniform (if necessary)
i. Organize payment envelopes for ref payments at each game – current rates are
below – with an 8 game season you need a total of $104 (U9/10), $312 (U11/12),
$336 (U13/14), $384 (U16), and $432 (U19) collected from all your families to pay
out over the season.

ii. Give check to coach to pay MUSA field usage fee – this will be $40 per player per
year for the 2013-14 season (U16 and U19 playing only one season pay $20). Thus a
check to MUSA (Mason United Soccer Association) should be given to MUSA rep at
field sign up in the summer for $40 * # of players on your roster. (Note: no field
signup allowed if this check is not delivered on or before that night)
iii. Organize uniform orders and uniform distribution as well as any other group
equipment orders
1. Uniform restrictions- boys are navy blue jerseys away and white home; girls
are red jerseys away and white home; we would appreciate the Mason Soccer
Club blaze on the chest; can customize as desired beyond that
2. For 2013/14 – U9, U11, U13 – any new uniforms should be odd numbers;
U10, U12, U14 – any new uniforms should be even numbers; if two teams in
your age/gender group suggested to organize so players not taking same
numbers- makes it possible to guest roster easily
Get team registered on CASL website; make sure all coaches/managers register, have risk
management card up-to-date and have signed (online) Code of Ethics form
Hand out and collect medical release and medical history forms at parent meeting before season
(helps to have a notary on-hand; not unusual for one of parents around team to be one) (PUT IN
TEAM FILE TO HAVE AT EACH GAME)
Get 1”x1” (or so) picture of each player for player pass cards; get players to sign cards when
distributed by CASL (at pre-season coaches meeting in August) and laminate all cards. (PUT IN
TEAM FILE TO HAVE AT EACH GAME)
Fill out game sheets (PUT IN TEAM FILE TO HAVE AT EACH GAME)
Complete registration and collect fees for any tournaments
Manage any game changes and substitute for coach at CASL coaches meeting if coach can’t attend
Develop a team contact list with cell #’s and email addresses; identify any that can’t accept text
messages
Have first aid kit at all games
Coordinate scheduling vis-à-vis conflicts of players with other sports and/or premier club games
Organize end-of-season party
