Objective:TosharepreferredTeamRoleswithinthe
teamandhighlightpotentialstrengthsandweaknesses.
Bytheendofthesessiontheteamwillhaveaclearer
insightintobothindividualandcollectivecontributions,
leadingtomoreproductiveworking.
Method
Howyourunthissessionwill
dependonthenumberof
participants, whether theyare
ateam,orwhether theyare
fromdifferent departments
ororganisations.
Ifitisaworkingteam,itmaybe
bestnottosplititup,unlessitis
alargeteamthatnaturallybreaks
intosmallersub-teams.Otherwise,
divideparticipants into “teams”of
approximately fiveorsix.
AskeachteamtodrawTheBelbin
TeamRoleCircle onaflipchart
andtoenter theirnamesinthe
segmentsthatcorrespond totheir
toptwoTeamRoles.
Participants should usetheir top
twoTeamRolesashighlighted on
theTeamRoleOverviewpageof
their report.
Short-cut: TheBelbin TeamRoleCircle is
produced aspartoftheBelbinTeamReport.
Oncenameshavebeenentered, encourage
discussion andanalysisofthefindings.Using
their newlyacquired knowledgeofTeam
Roles, askparticipantstocomeupwithalist
offivestrengthsoftheteam,andfive
possibleweaknesses.
