Each summary highlights key benefits, SKU information, and specific
features. The summaries are also available as stand-alone documents

Data Protection Foundation & Data Protection Advanced Bundles
These usage-based bundles are measured by the Front End Terabyte (FET) capacity being protected. FETs are the
total amount of data being backed up before deduplication. Data is measured by the most recent full (or synthetic full)
backup performed.
Protect a variety of clients. DPF and DPA offer a variety of data protection and information management options to
meet different use cases.
Mix and Match. DPF and DPA can be combined with a variety of Solution Sets and Add-Ons to enhance functionality.
Buy as you go. Tiered pricing allows customers to buy capacity as their needs grow. Additional purchased capacity is
based on a customer’s cumulative capacity (i.e., if they have 100TBs installed and purchase an additional 5TBs, the
additional 5TBs are priced at the tier for 105TB, not 5TB).

WHEN WOULD A CUSTOMER BE INTERESTED IN DPF AND APP ADD-ON?
•
DPF is ideal for customers who want to protect file and NAS data, but don’t have and/or need to backup a lot of
application data. The App Add-On is specifically designed to be used with DPF to meet customers’ application
backup needs. Customers can mix DPF and DPA in the same CommCell. Customers can also mix Solution Set
licensing with DPF and DPA since they are metered separately.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DATA PROTECTION ADVANCED?
•
DPA provides unlimited File System agents and NAS / NDMP agents; as well as unlimited Application and Database
support for Microsoft (Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, AD), Linux/Unix (MySQL, Oracle, Lotus Notes, DB2) and SAP.
**Not all applications for Microsoft & Linux/Unix are provided in the list above.**

DPA provides Data Protection Snapshot (DPS) and Replication (DPSR) capabilities. Snapshots (IntelliSnap®) protect
data quickly and efficiently while offering frequency settings to help reduce potential data loss by having multiple
recovery points throughout production hours. Recovery takes minutes compared to hours for recovering from disk,
tape or cloud. Please refer to the IntelliSnap Recovery Solution page for more information.
WHAT ARE OPTIONAL ADD-ONS WITH DPA?

The Vault Tracker Enterprise feature helps you to manage media (tape) that are removed from a library and stored
in offsite locations. It provides chain of custody tracking and an Iron Mountain plug-in.

Ops Reporting offers users access to the full set of Metrics Reporting, Data Analytics and custom reports features
from the software store.

Snap & Replicate (DPSR) (IntelliSnap®) Bundles
Solutions and Capacity Licensing Agreements (CLA) provide purchasing flexibility to meet your unique needs. They can be deployed
individually or as part of a comprehensive data protection and information management solution.
Innovation. IntelliSnap technology orchestrates application-aware hardware snapshots, replication and recovery to make data
assets fully available instantly. Our solution supports the widest range of functionality and hardware arrays in the industry without
the need for custom scripting.
Keep Existing Backup System. Organizations DO NOT need to change their existing backup system to deploy IntelliSnap.
New Storage Purchase. Making a new storage hardware purchase? It’s easy to add IntelliSnap which is a fraction of the cost of
the storage purchase and allows for better operational efficiency. Since IntelliSnap integrates with all the major storage arrays you
can easily manage snapshots in disparate environments and avoid vendor storage lock-in.
Application Recovery. Application and database owners (DBAs) need rapid access to multiple recovery points via snapshots and
