2. Meeting minutes will be posted to buildingbrightfutures.org. Click on our region
3. Voluntary Updates
a. Kelly Wallace (The Family Place) May 23rd at VT Dept. Health – AHS and VT General assembly
joined with Aspen Instituted and Robert Wood Johnson to address adverse childhood experiences.
They are meeting with CIS Hartford Region; Hartford CIS is unique because of coordination between
2 parent child centers, 2 mental health centers and is an excellent, well-coordinated program that
supports the well-being of young children and their families.
b. Jim Tonkovich (211) - 211 received national accreditation renewal with high marks; 211 is one of
many entry points for families
c.
Vicky (Let’s Grow Kids) - $1 million CCFP has been approved ; still need $9.1 million; White River
Junction Action Team meeting had a great turn out with the goal of creating advocacy; this summer
voter registration at tables to create a voting block who will vote on behalf of children. 10,000 pledge
signers for LGK but not all are registered voters. Full LGK announcements attached to agenda.

Regional Action Plan Presentation
Sarah Buxton
Last meeting we received a lot of information from the transportation sector. The leadership team thought
there was a lot presented that needs to be “digested” in order to connect this with our regional action plan.
Historical overview (attached) of work plan to date. Reminder that the strategic plan with all its many layers,
Northern Windsor and Orange Building Bright Futures includes these towns: Barnard, Bethel, Bradford, Bridgewater,
Chelsea, Corinth, Fairlee, Hartford, Hartland, Norwich, Pomfret, Randolph, Rochester, Royalton, Sharon,
Stockbridge, Strafford, Thetford, Tunbridge, Vershire, West Fairlee, and Woodstock
priority pathways and details, is a living document that is flexible which makes it responsive to community
needs. Draft plan has been submitted, as required.
2:15pm
Transportation Task Force
Making a plan to move this objective forward
1. A large scale regional data collection has taken place (via Two Rivers Ottauquechee, Advance Transit
and Stagecoach)
2. Summer is a suggested time for a work group to analyze the data and set action items. Examples:
soliciting volunteer drivers for Stagecoach, merging data from multiple sources “map the gap”,
addressing the gaps. This group should also connect with Vital Communities.
3. Use a multi-(and social) media approach to public communication.
4. Process
a. Identify a committee (s) – Sarah will help with all
i. Facebook Survey team (Karen, Marla, Kelly)
ii. Map the Gap - Remember to get info from the families as well as what the transportation
companies have! (e.g. Facebook, survey monkey) (Allison, Jeff, Jan, Jim)
iii. Get volunteers for Stagecoach (Mary Ellen, Cindy, Pat)
b. Work during the summer
