Proud, Responsible, Inspired learners, Determined to Excel
In Pre-K we are experiencing
tremendous growth! Students
are exploring traditional tales
and modern rhymes in reading. In math, we are learning
how to compare sets and in science we are making
predictions during float and sink experiments. Students
are also learning all about different cultures in social
studies. The best is yet to come! Please make sure you
are gathering your spare change for a chance to be the
Pre K prince or princess for our upcoming Mardi Gras
Ball our next turn in date is this Friday!
-Mrs. Royer (Ms. Batiste) & Ms. Semien (Ms. Patton)
Happy New Year! We are looking
forward to an exciting and
adventurous second semester. The
current skills we are working on are consonant blends
(cl, dr, fl, gh), high frequency words (a, me, my, to, like,
and) and addition. Please review our past high
frequency words my, with, you, what, are now, and
come, and remember parents, read to your child each
night so that they can become strong readers!
-Ms. Singleton, Mrs. Ross , & Ms. Guillory
First graders cruised
through the fall semester
and learned new skills. In
math, we are currently
working on greater than, less than, and equal to. In social
studies were are learning about economics and in science we
will be exploring the human body. Parents make sure that
you are reading with your student each night and signing
their SFA homework nightly as well. -Mrs. Winpigler (Mrs.
Stewart), Mrs. Young, & Ms. Lavergne
Second graders are off
to a great start this New
Year. We will begin our
new rotations for SFA in reading. Science will be fun as
we will be learning about animal’s habitat. In math, we
are working on 2 digit subtraction with regrouping. We
are learning and using a new PBIS behavior plan in our
classes so that we can earn lots of Happles for our good
behavior.
-Ms. Sigler, Mrs. Mckee, & Ms. Knox
In third grade, we are diving
deeper into our content in
all subjects as we begin to
prepare for our spring iLEAP. Our scholars are so eager
and ready to learn daily. We recently took midterm
assessments in all subjects and students have made
significant progress from the beginning of the year.
Please encourage your scholar to keep up the good
work so that we can finish the school year with a
“bang”!
-Ms. Ollie, Mrs. Brumfield, Ms. Bibbins, Ms. Hogan
January begins the start of
test preparation. After
school tutoring permission

trip permission slips. Thanks for your support as we
prepare students for the 5th grade. Don’t forget
homework sheets go home every Monday and conduct
sheets go home every Thursday. Don’t forget students
are collecting spare change so they can have a chance
to be crowned royalty for the Mardi Gras ball. Our next
turn in date is this Friday, January 13.
-Ms. Knighton, Ms. Ciro, & Ms. Provo
