SARNIA GIRLS’ SOCCER CLUB BURSARY 2016 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The applicant must be enrolled or intending to enroll as a full-time student in post-secondary program at a community college or university in Canada in the fall of the eligibility year. The applicant must have a minimum academic average of 65% or GPA equivalent for their grade 12 year The applicant must be a member of the Sarnia Girls Soccer Club in the application year. The applicant may receive this award only once. NUMBER OF AWARDS: A maximum of three (3) AMOUNT OF AWARD: $1000.00 EACH DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: On or before September 1, 2016 mailed to P.O. Box 22062, Twin Lakes Postal Outlet, Sarnia, Ontario, N7S 6J4, OR dropped off to Sarnia Girls Soccer Club at 1540 Lottie Neely Park Road, Sarnia, Ontario Attention: Bursary Committee. NOTIFICATION: Winner shall be informed of the decision of the Bursary Committee in mid-September. SELECTION CRITERIA: Applicant must provide proof of enrollment or acceptance at the educational Institution. Applicant must submit a transcript of their marks including Grade 12 (10%). Applicant must submit a 500-word essay of what their soccer experience means to them and what it has done for them as a person (40%). Applicant must submit a soccer profile. Applicant must submit a profile of her involvement as a player, coach, referee, etc., within the SGSC (25%). Applicant must submit a volunteer profile including soccer activities outside the SGSC and other community activities. (Must indicate if part of the high school 40 hour requirement) (25%). The Bursary Committee appointed by the Board of Directors of the SGSC will determine the best candidate to receive the award based upon a combination of received submission which should include proof of postsecondary school enrollment, grade 12 marks and essay and player profile. OTHER: Actual payment of the bursary shall be done after the add/drop date of the educational institution and there is proof that the player has maintained enrollment. The Bursary Committee shall be responsible for establishment of weighting criteria and process and may recommend changes to the selection criteria as required.
