This term will include learning about the differences between minibeasts and other animals and we will be planting our own seeds, caring for them and watching them develop. We will also be learning through the texts: Jack and the Beanstalk and nonfiction texts related to our topic. The children have enjoyed learning about the date and months of the year, now we will move on to learning the correct spelling of key words and words linked to our topic. Please continue to read every day with your child, encouraging them to segment, blend and read the words. To help your child do their very at school, please ensure that he/she: Attends school ON TIME, EVERY DAY! Actively participates in all school activities. IMPORTANT REMINDERS Home School Communication: I will be at the Reception door before/after school on most days, if you need any information, or have any worries or concerns please feel free to talk to me. For a more formal meeting, please telephone the office or send a note via your child. Attendance and Punctuality: We have high expectations for attendance and punctuality. Make sure that your child comes to school ON TIME, EVERY DAY! DO NOT TAKE HOLIDAYS DURING TERM TIME! If you do not send your child to school on time, every day, THEY WILL MISS VALUABLE LEARNING TIME THAT CAN NOT BE REPLACED! Behaviour: We have high expectations for work and behaviour; therefore it is essential that you give your child a daily reminder about the importance of: excellent behaviour and listening, honesty, treating others and property with respect, working hard and always doing their best. P.E.: P.E. is every Tuesday afternoon and we are learning gymnastics and games. We are NOT changing in to P.E. kits on this day but we do take off our shoes and socks. Please ensure that your child can take off and put on their shoes and socks and it would be helpful if girls didn’t wear tights – perhaps they could wear trousers on Tuesday. We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with you. Yours sincerely, Miss Murphy and Miss Myles.
