2016 Dining in the Dark Sponsor Packet
Dining in the Dark is Lighthouse of the
Big Bend’s annual fundraising event. At
Dining in the Dark guests’ experience food,
drinks and conversation as they may have
not before –without sight! For a short
period of time, guests are given perspective
into what Lighthouse clients experience on
a daily basis, life without sight. The menu
is a SECRET. The three-course meal is
served by the Leon County Sherriff’s Office SWAT Team using their
night vision goggles.
The “Paula Bailey Inspirational Community Member” award is
presented in honor of Paula Bailey, former client and board member, who
became deaf and blind due to meningitis.
Why Sponsor Dining in the Dark
Each year the Lighthouse of the Big Bend changes the lives over 300
clients, ages 0 to 101. Lighthouse of the Big Bend assists individuals with
vision loss in their pursuit of independence. With the support of the
Division of Blind Services, Community Partners and fundraising efforts
Lighthouse of the Big Bend is able to assist individuals with vision loss in
their pursuit of independence. Sponsoring Dining in the Dark is an
