Learn how to write your name. Memorize your address and your parent’s phone number. Wednesday 7 Calendar Reading Learn the names of the days in a week and the months in a year. 13 Touch and Tell numbers! Write the numbers one to nine with glue on nine separate cards. Then, go to the kitchen and get some salt and sprinkle onto the glue. After the glue dries, close your eyes and trace over the number with your fingers to guess which number is on each card. Friday 2 Try till you learn Ask your mom to take out a nice shirt for you. Count the number of buttons on that shirt and try to button them all. Saturday 3 Let’s learn to tie laces! Put on your shoes and try to tie the laces yourself. 8 Let’s Celebrate: BEST FRIEND’S DAY (8th June 2017) 9 Beat the heat by making IceLollies, Keep them in freezer and whip them out for a treat on a hot day. You can take your parents help. Recipe for the Ice Lollies:Put water in ice-tray and freeze it in the freezer. Take out the ice and crush it in mixer. Put the crushed ice in a glass and prick it with a kulfi stick. Now, press the crushed ice around the stick to make it compact. Now, slowly pull out the ice lolly and pour your favourite flavoured syrup over it (orange/ rose/ mango). 16 Preparation & practice makes me perform well! Learn 12-15 lines on ‘Animal Kingdom’ for presentation after vacations. 10 Let’s feed the Birds Go to the market buy two bird baths. Place them in your balcony or on the terrace. Fill one with water and another with bird’s feed. Try to meet/ call your best friend and wish him/her ‘Happy Best Friends’ Day’! Be careful about saving water and electricity. 12 Fun with shapes Use Coloured sheets to cut the shapes – circle, triangle, square and rectangle, assemble them and paste to form 2 different figures on two bright coloured A4 sized sheets. Use your imagination! Thursday 1 Get up early, start your day with Gayatri Mantra recitation. Touch feet of your elders to seek their blessings. 14 Make flash cards of vowel sounds of size A-4 on ivory sheet/pastel sheet. Roll no. 1 to 5: (‘a’ sound) 6 to 10: (‘e’ sound) 11 to 15 :(‘i’ sound) 16 to 20:( ‘o’ sound) 21 to 25:(‘u’ sound) 26 to 30:( Use of This/That/has) 31 to 35: (Use of in/on/under) (Refer to My English Book) 15 Ice Fun! Put 4 ice cubes in a plate and keep it outside under the sun. Go after 5 minutes and see what happened to the ice cubes. Draw your observations of the ‘before and after states’ in your scrap file. Sunday 4 Let’s know ourselves in a better way! Stand in front of the mirror and look at yourself carefully and point towards the body parts on your face, while reciting the rhyme. (Refer the last page guidelines for the rhyme) 11 Happiness in togetherness Watch any animated cartoon movie & have a popcorn party with your family. Paste pictures of the movie characters in your scrap file & learn their names. Stay away and watch from a distance, observe the birds feeding themselves. 17 Make a beautiful card for the special person in your life “Your Father”. (with the help of your mom) With a beautiful quote: Thank you for being my support my guide & my Strength……. Happy Father’s Day 18 Father’s Day Special: With a big- big smile , give a tight -tight hug and wish your father, ‘ Happy Father’s Day’. Surprise him: Bake a cake/Decorate a vanilla icecream with chocolate sauce and nuts, fruits & chocolate sticks and along with that give him the beautiful card made by you. Don’t forget to capture your memories on camera. 19 Learn the व्यंजन गीत and स्वर गीत (mandatory) given on page 1 and 2 of the Shabd Abhyaas Book. Photocopies of व्यंजन गीत and स्वर गीत ,can be pasted in your child’s room. 20 Make a two stand Abacus: For the concept of Tens and ones. Put nine beads in ones and one in Tens. Red coloured bead can be used for TENS and blue for ONES. 21 YOGA HEALS THE SOUL! Happy Yoga Day! Celebrate health by teaching your parents the Yogaasans learnt by you in your school. 22 Learn the names of the National Animal, Bird, Flower using sentences. Eg.- Tiger is the National Animal of India. Learn the names of Chief Minister of Delhi, Prime Minister and President of India Learn to recognize any 5 famous monuments of India. 26 Make the ‘Best out of Waste’ for your class decoration. Make any item using waste material such as, wasted CDs, ice-cream sticks, plastic spoons etc. 27 Compare yourself with your brother/sister/friend using pre-number concepts. Big-small, more-less, farless, fat-thin etc. 28 Collect different types of seeds or dried beans, pumpkin seeds, mustard seeds, popcorn. Then, sort the seeds and beans and use them to decorate a beautiful picture or design. 29 Spend valuable time with your grandparents. Tell them to narrate their favorite childhood story to you. 23 Let’s Create Make flash cards of size A-4 on ivory sheet/pastel sheet. Help your parent to fill the empty bottles and keep them in the fridge. Pretend to be the water dispenser for your family for the day and serve the water to anyone who comes from outside. 30 Get ready for school! Wash your water bottle and bag. Arrange your school bag as per your time table. And don’t forget to keep your holiday homework in your bag. . Guidelines for the parents Holiday’s assignment should be done under parental guidance and not by the parents. The child should have a fixed time daily for doing assignments. ‘Reading is Fun’ – Inculcate the habit of reading in your child. Nurture your child’s interest – be it art, music, dance or any other activity. Let your ward pursue a hobby of his/her own choice. Please train your child to become independent in his daily chores. Each and Every holiday home work of child should be labeled, properly maintained and must be submitted on 3rd July 2017( after reopening) Holiday Homework will be assessed for report cards. At home 25 Me and my city Take a tour of your city with your family. Visit different places click & photographs of various places and paste these photos in the scrap file. Develop the habit of – ‘Early to bed and early to rise’. After the bath – Bow your head and recite ‘Gayatri Mantra’ daily. Be polite while speaking . Help your mom to clean the table, serving food, dusting the furniture and so on. Inculcate proper toilet habits. Wash your hands before and after every meal and rinse your mouth after the meals. Say a prayer before the meals.
