of the Municipal Corporations Law, His Excellency the Governor, with the
advice of the Executive Council, has been pleased to order as follows: —

N O T I C E UNDER SECTION 7.
Whereas by Notification published under No. 491 in Supplement No. 3
to the Gazette of the 30th October, 1959, t n e Governor declared under
sections 2, 3 and 5 of the Land Acquisition Law the construction of roads
in the vicinity of Dhekelia, Akhna and Episkopi to be an undertaking of
public utility ;
And whereas the Commissioner of Larnaca by a notice published under
Notification No. 18 in Supplement No. 3 to the Gazette of the 14th January,
i960 gave particulars of the properties (hereinafter referred to as " the
properties ") required in connection with the aforesaid undertaking ;
And whereas the Commissioner of Larnaca forwarded to the Governor
the required recommendations, plans and particulars, together with the
objections made ;
And whereas the Governor has approved the plans and particulars
submitted, and has considered it expedient, having regard to the circum­
stances of the case, that the properties be acquired :
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 7
of the Land Acquisition Law, the Governor hereby sanctions the acquisition
of the properties under the provisions of the said Law.

APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF MUNICIPAL COMMISSION UNDER
SECTION 62.
Whereas by Public Instrument No. 798 of 1957, dated the 22nd day
of August, 1957 (hereinafter referred to as " t h e Public Instrument") His
Excellency the Governor had been pleased to appoint a municipal com­
mission for the Municipal Corporation of Lefka consisting of the persons
whose names appear in the Schedule to the Public Instrument ;
And whereas by Public Instrument No. 470 of 1959, dated the 9th day

of October, 1959, certain new appointments were made to the aforesaid
municipal commission ;
And whereas it is considered desirable to make a further new
appointment to the aforesaid municipal commission :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in exercise ol the powers
vested in him by section 62 of the Municipal Corporations Law and of every
other power enabling him in that behalf, has been pleased to appoint
Mr. Shahap Shemi, Administrative Assistant, to be a member of the afore­
said municipal commission in the place of M r . Mehrnet Reshat, whose
appointment as a member of the aforesaid municipal commission is hereby
terminated, and the Schedule to the Public Instrument shall be amended
accordingly.

Law ;
' And whereas the said persons have severally given an undertaking in
writing as provided in section 7 of the said Law :
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 8
of the Missionary Educational and Medical (Alien Regulation) Law, His
Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has
