How to Accept a Promotion of a TSM from another Team When to Use This Event Use this event when a worker is transferring from another manager and is being promoted onto your team. The position may or may not move with the worker. The relinquishing manager initiates the process. If the reason for the change is not considered a promotion, review the other event reasons provided or contact your HR Business Partner for guidance. Accept a Promotion of a TSM from another Team
To return to the Workday Homepage, click on the Workday icon at the top of the screen.
Click on the In-­‐Box Worklet:
1. Locate the transaction from the relinquishing manager in the Actions tab of your In-box
2. Click on the Pencil
button to enter information in the Start section of the transaction
3. Click in the When do you want this change to take effect? field to enter/change the Effective Date as
needed. The date will already be populated based on the entry from the relinquishing manager, but can
be updated if necessary
4. Click on the Prompt button next to the Why are you making this change? field and select Promotion
5. Click on the Pencil
button to edit the Position or the Job Profile (depending on whether the TSM is
taking a new position or will remain in their current position but their title will be updated)
6. Click on the Prompt button next to the Position or Job Profile field and navigate through the drop-down
menus to locate and select the new Position or Job Profile
7. Click on the Pencil
button to edit the Salary, Hourly, and/or Allowance Plans as needed
When all fields are complete, click Approve at the bottom of the page.

Definition
Will automatically default to the beginning of the
TSM’s next pay period (“Use Next Pay Period”
checkbox will be checked). Enter a different date if
required.
Enter reason for change.
Enter in new position, if TSM is moving to another
position.
Update if TSM will remain in current position but title
will be updated. Note: position title will not update to the new job profile until approved.
Enter new salary. Enter an annual rate for those in
the Salaried Plan; or an hourly rate for those in the
Hourly Plan.
Any allowance plans the TSM is eligible for will
display. Enter an amount in the plan if the TSM will
be receiving this allowance, or if not, remove the
plan.
Merit plan will display if TSM is eligible. No changes
are needed.
Bonus Plan will display if TSM is eligible. Enter bonus
