The

Leadership
The Call
to Leadership
OUR FIRST GOAL IN LIFE:
• to know Christ and to serve the
Body of Christ
HOW WILL I KNOW MY CALLING:
• As you give your life away to
Christ and His Church, you will
discover it.
For a Christ
• is the point of revelation,
the personal foundation for
ministry.
• the most exciting event in a
life of a Christian.
• Focus
• Confidence
• Anointing
• Presumption
• Innocent & noble motives
• Profession of the world
This is what is called false
leadership whom God
rejects.
I did not send
these prophets, yet they
have run with their
message; I did not speak
to them, yet they have
prophesied.
Jeremiah 23:21
• takes upon himself the
authority and responsibility
of an office into which he
has been divinely called
(Numbers 16:1-11)
• He caused others to rise up
against existing spiritual
leadership (Numbers
16: 2)
Numbers 16: 1-2, 1
Korah son of
Izhar, the son of Kohath, the
son of Levi, and certain
Reubenites--Dathan and
Abiram, sons of Eliab, and On
son of Peleth--became insolent
2 and rose up against Moses.
With them were 250 Israelite
men, well-known community
leaders who had been appointed
members of the council.
• He publicly criticized and
questioned the existing
leadership (Numbers 16: 3a)
They came as a group
to oppose Moses and Aaron and
said to them, “You have gone
too far! The whole community is
holy, every one of them, and
the LORD is with them. Why
then do you set yourselves
above the LORD’s assembly?”
Numbers 16: 3
• He accused leadership of
what he himself was
guilty (Numbers 16: 3b)
They came as a group
to oppose Moses and Aaron and
said to them, “You have gone
too far! The whole community is
holy, every one of them, and
the LORD is with them. Why
then do you set yourselves
above the LORD’s assembly?”
Numbers 16: 3
• He was not satisfied with
position that he had been
given. He continually wanted
more authority and a higher
position (Numbers 16: 10)
Numbers 16: 9
Isn't it enough for
you that the God of Israel has
separated you from the rest of
the Israelite community and
brought you near himself to do
the work at the LORD's
tabernacle and to stand before
the community and minister to
them?
Numbers 16: 10
He has brought
you and all your fellow Levites
near himself, but now you are
trying to get the priesthood
too.
• Man-appointed leaders
claim to receive a call from
God, but the call is by the
authority of human
vessels.
• He will take your sons and
appoint them for himself
(1 Samuel 8: 11)
• He will appoint many men to
work his ground, to harvest
his crops, to make his
instruments of war and his
chariot (1 Samuel 8: 12)
• He will take your daughters
to be perfumers, cooks and
bakers (1 Samuel 8: 13)
• He will take the best of your
fields, vineyards and olive
yards and give them to his
servants (1 Samuel 8: 14)
• He is destined to rob and
spoil the people of the Lord.
• He is not concerned with the
needs of the sheep.

• Apostles
• Prophet
• Evangelist • Pastor • Teacher
• to function in one of these
offices, a person must
receive a divine call from
