A Leap forward for Bus Éireann Cork

Leap Card is a pay-as-you-go smart card that
is used to pay for public transport services. It is
currently rolling out to Bus Éireann services in
Cork City (Red & Green Zones).
Initially only adult Leap Cards will be valid for
travel in Cork, with child and student following
at a later date.
What routes in Cork are covered by Leap Card?
Adult Leap Cards can now be used within Cork Zone 1
(Red Zone) and Zone 2 (Green Zone).
Once I have a Leap Card, what are my
ticket options?
You can use Travel Credit on your Leap Card to pay for
single trips. Travel Credit fares are 16% cheaper than
the corresponding cash single ticket. If you are a more
frequent traveller, you can also buy the following tickets
for your card:

How much does it cost to buy a Leap Card?
*Month refers to a calendar month. E.g. January
A €5 refundable deposit is charged for adult Leap Cards.
You must also top up with a ticket or a minimum of €5
Travel Credit at the time of first purchase.

Commuter Rail services in Cork?
Yes, we plan to roll out Leap Card to Commuter Rail
services in Cork. In addition, we plan to add child and
student cards with discounted fares in the near future. For

Travel Credit, 24 hour and 7 day tickets can be
purchased at Leap Card agents (PayZone agents). Just
look for the Leap Card sign. A list of Leap Card agents

to the East, Ballincollig to the west,
Crosshaven to the south, and
Cloghroe to the north. Route 215,
221, 222, 223, 226, 226A, 232 are
within the green zone. Route 260
and 261 as far as Carrigtwohill is
also within the green zone.
