Charades- Students have to act out word or action without using any words
while all other players try to guess.
Freeze Tag- Designate a person to be It. They have to catch other players.
When someone is tagged they have to freeze in place until another player
comes and unfreezes them by tapping them. Goal of whoever is It is to
freeze all players.
Brain GamesRhyme Memory- Played with a set of memory cards. Students flip over two
cards and see if they rhyme or do not, they can play in teams or individually.
Pictionary- Students draw a card with something to draw and try to draw it
as well as possible so that the other students guess what it is. Whoever
guesses the right word first gets to draw next. This game can also be played
in teams.
ColorsPopsicle Stick Bridges- Students use popsicle sticks and glue to create
bridges that will be stable, they can test their completed bridges with
various objects.
Blob Tag- One student is assigned or volunteers as It, other students want
to avoid them. When students are tagged they must link with whoever
tagged them to form the Blob. If a blob reaches 6 people, they can split into
groups of three. The last person to be tagged becomes It for the next round.
Lego Tower Competition- Teams compete to build the tallest Lego tower
possible without it tipping over. They have to work to balance stability with
height in order to build the tallest tower and win.
Simon Says- One student is selected to be Simon, while the rest of the
students gather in front of them. Simon gives commands, starting with
“Simon says
”. If they do not include this at the beginning of their
command, other students should not follow the command. If they
accidentally do, they are out.
Fire in the ForestAround the World- Played with a list of age appropriate math questions.
Students should line up in columns. The first two students in one column will
be asked a math question (‘What is 5x6?’), whoever answers it first moves
to challenge the next student and move to stand next to them. If a student
is able to make it around the room and back to their initial seat wins.
