• Harry Wright and George Ellard saw who popular
baseball had become during the Civil War. After
the war, the two men put together the first
professional baseball team. That team the
Cincinnati Red Stockings traveled from town to
town. They challenging local teams to play ball
people payed to wotch the games. The Red
Stocking's success paved the weigh for the start of
the professional baseball teams that are popular
