Girls Varsity Head Coach
As a member of Team Canada, Ms. Vaillancourt won gold at the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics.
At Harvard, she was 2008 Ivy League Player of the Year and 2009 ECAC Hockey Player of the Year.
In 2011, she was Clarkson Cup MVP as a member of the Montreal Stars. Ms. Vaillancourt’s experience and commitment empowers her players to achieve success and maximize their full potential.

Dan Poliziani
Boys Varsity Head Coach
Mr. Poliziani has over 35 years of hockey and coaching experience, including playing at OHL, NCAA
and professional hockey levels. A graduate of Yale (1982), he has worked with the Canadian Hockey
Associations Under-17 program and was senior boys hockey head coach at Appleby College from
2002 to 2014. Mr. Poliziani is a dedicated and motivated coach, educator and mentor.

Matthew Thompson
Goaltending Coach
Mr. Thompson joined the coaching
staff in 2012. Prior, he assisted
Coach Poliziani at Appleby
College. A former Athlete-of-theYear at St. Mary’s High School in
Pickering, Ont., Mr. Thompson
brings years of coaching experience to our program.
Patrick Colomb
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Mr. Colomb has been on the coaching staff
since 2013. His intensive program incorporates
traditional training such as speed and agility,
aerobic and anaerobic exercise, functional
strength lifting and mobility. Its goal is to help
student-athletes perform at an optimum level.

For over a decade, Mr. Rioux has been the heart and soul of hockey at Stanstead College. A former
head coach of the Varsity Boys Spartans, Mr. Rioux now oversees the hockey program at the school
with dedication and passion. He is committed to the whole development of our players and setting
them on a solid track for the future.

The Varsity Boys have developed a
reputation as a smart, fast-skating
team who hold their own against the
toughest competitors. More
importantly, the program has turned
out young men with the maturity,
leadership skills and perseverance to
succeed. With actively recruited
scholar-athletes, the team benefits from
a dynamic schedule and outstanding
coaching. All players graduate and
move on to university, with the
majority heading to junior hockey and
the very best earning NCAA
or CIS commitments.
In keeping with the international
development of the sport, girls hockey
at Stanstead College has steadily grown
in quality and reputation. Today, it
is a highly respected, elite program
turning out top young players.
With actively recruited scholarathletes, the team benefits from a
dynamic schedule and outstanding
coaching. All players graduate and
move on to university. The very best
move on to earn NCAA or
CIS commitments.
The short-term goal of the Prep and
Bantam teams is to develop the skills
and abilities of our younger
scholar-athletes on the ice, while
fostering a discplined and competitive
environment. The long-term goal
is for the best players to progress
to the varsity level.

schools as well as CIS and junior programs.
Among notable alumni are Mark Jankowski
(2012 NHL 1st Round Draft Pick – Calgary
Flames; member of 2015 Providence College
Friars National Champions) and Sarah Lefort
(Boston University, DI New England All-Star
and member of Team Canada’s National
Women’s Team).
