Summary 1. Only those players who have played 5 competition games can play in semis and finals; 2. No extra time will be played in Minkeys, Sevens or JFF for a semi-final or grand final which ends in a draw. In a semi-final, the team who finished the round games higher on the results table proceeds to the grand final. In a grand final game, the two teams are declared joint premiers with the team who finished the round games higher on the results table receiving the 'winner' trophy. 3. Extra time will be played for Opens divisions in both the semi-finals and grand finals. Each half is 30 minutes. The extra time procedure is as follows: a. After a 5 minute break and changing ends, the teams will play a further 5 minutes each way. Substitution is allowed during this time. No break will be taken between the two 5 minute periods. b. If the score is still drawn, the teams will be declared joint premiers. No golden goal, drop off or penalty shot out will be played. 4. Teams will still need to assist with umpires for finals. External umpires have been organsised for the some of the Opens grand final games. Janet will send a separate note about this to your umpire coordinator. 5. Coaches in junior games must coach from the sideline. There is some leniency for Minkey B coaches. 6. No substitution is allowed during the semi-finals or grand finals. Player eligibility A Registered Player must play 5 competition matches or more for one team to be eligible to play in semi-final and final competition matches. Any player who substitutes 3 times into another team within their Competition is considered to be registered in that team as of the third match. Match Sheets Only players who are printed on the team Match sheet will be permitted to take the field for the Semi Final and Final games. Players are required to sign the Match Sheet before taking the field. Umpires will check all Match Sheets are completed before starting the game. Any injuries must be written on the Match Sheet. Game times Umpires will blow their whistle to invite teams onto the field 5 minutes prior to the start time of their game. Please be prompt taking the field as a delayed game start will be in your own time. Duration of games is listed below: o Minkey - 15 min halves; 5 min break; o Sevens - 20 min halves; 5 min break; if the score is draw after full time, the teams are declared joint premiers but the team ahead on the point score receives the 'winner' trophy; o Junior Full Field - 25 min halves; 5 min break; if the score is draw after full time, the teams are declared joint premiers but the team ahead on the point score receives the 'winner' trophy; o Mixed - 30 min halves; 5 min break; o Opens - 30 min halves; 5 min break; If the score is drawn after full time, a 5 min break will be taken and the teams will change ends. The teams will play a further 5 minutes each way. Substitution of eligible players is allowed during this time. No break will be taken between the two 5 minute periods. If the score is still drawn, the team ahead on the point score is declared the winner. No golden goal, drop off or penalty shot out will be played. Coaches All coaches for major semi finals (1 v 4 and 2 v 3) for ALL divisions must coach from the sideline. (Leniency may be given to Minkey B coaches if the game grinds to a halt!) Spectators Spectators are encouraged to cheer loudly and passionately...but only from the sideline. Spectators are not permitted to stand at any point along the baselines. Spectators are asked to keep at least one metre clear space between the sideline and their positions (so they do not trip the umpire!) Goal keepers Teams can play with a fully kitted goal keeper, a kicking back or no goalie. If a player is playing as a kicking back, they can act as a goalie within the circle but must wear a different colour shirt and inform the umpires and opposition at the start of the half. Modified Rules for Juniors Minkeys – a very strict danger rule is played for both a stick raised off the ground and a ball raised off the ground. Sevens – a player must not raise the ball higher than knee height. A player must not raise their stick higher than the waist when playing or hitting the ball. Junior Full Field – a player must not raise the ball higher than knee height. A player must not raise their stick higher than the shoulder when playing or hitting the ball.
