Thanks to the efforts of volunteer coaching staff, thousands of children that participate in our programs have the opportunity to enjoy our wonderful sport. Team Officials / Players / Parents Information for: U9 – U12 Boys and Girls Developmental League U9 – U18 Boys and Girls Recreational League U13 – U18 Boys and Girls Premier 1 and Premier 2 League It is the responsibility of the Team Officials to be aware and comply with all Rules and Regulations. As such, please review the WYSA Rules and Regulations & Indoor Rules which are posted on the WYSA website (www.winnipegyouthsoccer.com) under the ABOUT WYSA tab. *Please note that WYSA will be administering half field play for the U11-U18 Developmental and Premier Leagues. * WYSA COMMUNICATION Due to the large number of teams, email is the most efficient method for WYSA to communicate and update teams. All schedule and season updates will be emailed, so please be sure to provide an email address that will be checked frequently during your profile registration process. SCHEDULE Both genders may be scheduled during the week, however, females shall only be scheduled for Saturdays and males for Sundays. The last day of play before the Holiday break is Sunday, December 23rd, 2016 The first day of play after the Holiday break is Saturday, January 7th, 2017 The Golden Boy Tournament will take place February 15th – 20th, 2017 and no league matches will be scheduled during this time. The Cambrian Challenge Cup Finals will take place on Saturday, March 18th, 2017. No matches will be rescheduled or changed from the schedules for any other reason than administrative error. In the instance that a scheduling error is noted, teams will be advised of the correction via e-mail. IDENTIFICATION CARDS All Team Officials in every division are required to have a valid coaches ID card to participate in any WYSA match. All U9-U12 Developmental League and U13-U18 Premier 1 & Premier 2 players require valid player cards to participate in any WYSA match. Both teams must provide their appropriate ID Cards to the Timekeeper prior to the match. The Match Official will submit the match report to the WYSA Office where the WYSA Disciplinarian will review and determine if any additional disciplinary action is warranted. This will then be communicated to the Team Official via email. WYSA follows the Manitoba Soccer Association Disciplinary Guidelines, which can be found on the WYSA website under Discipline. If dismissed in a competition outside of the WYSA League, (i.e. Tournament), the suspension is to be served in the competition it is received, unless the Team has no further matches, in which case it will be served in the Team’s next scheduled League or Play-Off match. GAME SHEETS Each team shall list the full names (first and last) of all Team Officials and Players present at the match. Players under suspension or who are not present should not be listed on the game sheet to avoid any discrepancies. When designated as the Home Team, please ensure that the game sheet is filled out well in advance and provided to the Away Team at least 15 minutes before the scheduled kickoff time. The Home Team is listed first on the schedule and game sheets are to be provided by the Home Team for each match. Most facilities will have a few extra game sheets on site. If you need additional game sheets, please find them at the information booth at one of the facilities. GUEST PLAYERS (WYSA Rule 4.1) A maximum of three (3) guest players may be used for league matches. Players can only guest up to 5 games with the same team during the League Season. Guest players must be registered from the Home Club and also registered with a team participating in a WYSA League that is younger or a lower level. Guest Players must be clearly identified on the game sheet with a “GP” beside their name. Recreation Coaches please note the guest player rules for recreation teams indicate recreational teams may use guest players, provided they are from one of the clubs of with the team is comprised. All guest players must also be from a lower division/level or age group. MATCH OFFICIALS All matches will have a Match Official and referee assistant assigned. The Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association will not tolerate any abuse, verbal nor physical of any Match Officials. Any complaints or concerns about a Match Official must be submitted through the coaching staff in writing by either email at [email protected] or fax 204-233-9121. FAIR PLAY (WYSA Rule 3.1) All players should expect to play 50% of each match. It will be accepted under certain disciplinary circumstances that on field playing time cannot be guaranteed. It is the responsibility of the coaching staff to clearly communicate any disciplinary action to the player and his/her parents. All teams will shake hands with their opponents prior to every match. Unlimited substitutions will be made on the fly. Division U13-U18 Recreational teams will use a maximum of 6 players per team on the field, one shall be the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions will be made on the fly. Division U9-U12 Recreational teams will use a maximum of 7 players per team on the field, one shall be the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions will be made on the fly. Division U11-U18 Developmental & Premier League teams will use a maximum of 9 players per team on the field, one shall be the goalkeeper. An unlimited amount of substitutions can be made at any stoppage in play. Length of matches, 2 x 30 minute halves. Match balls are to be supplied by the home team. Slide tackling is now permitted in all divisions. A player must not use equipment or wear anything, which is dangerous to themselves or another player. Any kind of jewelry, bands or rings must be removed – taping is not allowed. Knee and leg braces must be completely covered by a protective sleeve such as neoprene or a similar material. The Match Official shall decide on all matters of safety. Players with casts will be allowed to play ONLY if the Match Official allows it.
