Dear Chess Player, 1 January 2017 As resolved and adopted at the Chess SA OGM held in Cape Town on 03 July 2015, all participants in chess activities in South Africa as well as Club, Regional, Provincial, National and International events, and educational institutions’ chess activities, must be paid up members of Chess SA and subjected to an annual membership fee, which Chess SA is effecting from 01 January 2016. Please note that: 1. Membership fees are as follows: * For an individual to qualify for the fee category of development/PDI player, the Region must submit a written motivation to <[email protected]> and copied to <[email protected]>, requesting such classification for the individual. Only junior players will be considered in the category of development/PDI player. A member who is on the Chess SA player database for more than 24 months cannot request to be classified in the category of development/PDI player. The Chess SA Qualifications Committee will adjudicate on acceptance of a player in the category of development/PDI player. 2. The Regions, through their respective Provinces, are responsible for ensuring that all annual membership fees due to Chess SA by their individual members, are paid to Chess SA. 3. The Regions will maintain a database of all members that are in good standing with respect to Chess SA annual membership dues. The database of these players in good standing with Chess SA must be displayed on the Regions website. 4. The list must be availed to Chess SA upon request. 5. Proof of payment must be accompanied by the registration form herewith attached 6. ANY INDIVIDUAL MEMBER WITH MEMBERSHIP FEES OUTSTANDING WILL FORFEIT RATING POINTS ON ALL PREVIOUS GAMES PLAYED, FOR THE YEAR TO DATE. 7. Your full co-operation in ensuring that all Chess SA membership fees is timeously paid over, will greatly assist in ensuring that Chess SA will be in a sound position to render exceptional service to the South African chess community. 8. Please note that all players who participated in SAJCC2016, have already settled their registration for 2017.
