Ergonomics
When something is ergonomic it provides optimum
comfort, as well as minimize stress or injury. It is supposed
to make the working environment easier for the
individual. Wherever people are engaged in activity,
ergonomics can always play a role to create more
comfort and efficiency.

Aid
Some work environments, whether a career or at home, may require

extra reach in order to grab an object that is too high up, or too far.
Therefor time is lost in trying to obtain some of these objects. A
traditional extended grabber is very limited in mobility. So here we
have a new innovative Extended Reach Aid.
Traditional products
Traditional grabbers are very limited, where you have a
fixed length and the grabbing hand is also fixed. This raises
some problems if something is too far and the traditional
grabber cannot reach. Also if the hand does not rotate,
you are limited in what you are able to grab.
New Design

The new design allows more capability when trying to
reach and grab something out of reach. The reach aid
incorporates small electric motors which extend or
contract the two bars on the side to the desirable
length. There is also a rotational motor which allows the
hand of the reach aid to rotate to your desire.

reach aid has buttons conveniently
located at the holder inside where you
hold the reach aid with your palm. These
buttons will be located right by the
thumb, one button to extend, one button
to contract, and then two buttons to
rotate left or right.
Human Factor

The human factor associated with this ergonomic
design, is that it enhances a work space in a way that
you can reach things on a high shelf, or in any other
way that it may be out of reach. It makes physical
objects which are out of reach, actually in reach. The
whole purpose of this design is to make a work
environment easier, with this universal and adjustable
design.
Conclusion

With the ReachAid, the traditional grabbers will be
obsolete. This product provides a lot more mobility,
strength, and grip at a cost which is not much more
than the traditional grabber. This product will end up in
stores with high shelves, or offices where there might be
high shelves and it will provide more efficiency when
people need to get reach something to get a task
done.
