Sportsmanship: The Only Way to Win
THE ONLY WAY TO WIN!
This form is to be filled out by the Varsity Baseball Coach of the school that is recommending a player for the GLBUA
“Good Sportsmanship Award”, that being outstanding act(s)/incidents of Good Sportsmanship during the current
season. The player’s action/incidents should ‘lead’ by example in promoting the ‘spirit’ of the game and encouraging
others to do the same. This form is to be signed by the Varsity Baseball Coach, Athletic Director and the School
Principal. The original copy to be forwarded to Roger Morrison (see below) and the submitting retain a copy. Please note
that players can be Varsity, Junior Varsity or Freshman.
The dictionary defines Good Sportsmanship as playing fair and being a good winner and losers. We often forget that it’s
important to be gracious in victory. Good Sportsmanship gives us a standard to follow at all times. Good sports act
courteously and maintain self-control in all circumstances.

This award to be presented to the player at his schools Baseball, Schools awards night, the final home baseball game or an
appropriate place agreed upon by the school and the GLBUA committee.
