Even Closer to Our 2014 Goal:
Pay Off the Mortgage
With your generosity, the mortgage owed
on the Pennel and Activity Buildings at the
Henry Fork Service Center is under $86,000.
If every church in the Virginia Conference
gives $100, we'll pay off the mortgage on the
new buildings in 2014. Please send us your
contributions with "Pay Off the Mortgage" on
the memo line.
Throughout the year,
your gifts keep us going.

Little Mary’s Van
Mary Younger Moorefield joined the
Board of Directors of the Henry Fork Service Center in January 1992, when she
“graciously volunteered to serve as treasurer.” Her offer was accepted, and she
served the Board of Directors in many capacities for the next 22 years. Those positions included Chair of Nominations Committee and member of the Personnel Committee.
Mary may be most remembered for leading the drive for the 1.6 million Labels for
Education needed to secure a 7 passenger
mini-van. In 2006, Mary asked permission to
become the Labels for Education coordinator for the Henry Fork Center, and started
cutting labels. Campbell had recently
moved from saving the front of the label
with the picture of the soup, to using the Labels for Education UPC code. Mary was
able to convince the label center to accept
the many fronts that had been collected as
well as the Labels for Education.

Mary Moorefield, friend, advocate, and tireless volunteer for Henry Fork S.C., passed away earlier this
summer.

Little Mary’s Van
(Continued from page 1)
In July of 2012, Mary
announced that Henry
Fork Center had the required number of points
collected, and the van was
ordered. We received delivery of the Dodge Caravan on December 31,
2012, and named it
“Little Mary’s Van” in
her honor.
We will miss Mary’s
care for Henry Fork Service Center’s staff and
children, and her presence
at all Center events. May
our service to our Jesus
Christ be as dedicated,
thoughtful, and generous
as that of Mary Younger
Moorefield.

are asked to pay $25-$50 per month depending on the size of their family. Your gifts also help us to pay our teachers, our mortgage ($86,000),
other operational expenses, summer camp activities and special needs.
