Three cheers for the B-Town drummers! In February, they
knocked down two amazing performances at Chingoucousy
Secondary School. The first event was a fundraiser for
cancer between the Chinguacousy Chiefs and Peel Police.
The drummers brought lots of energy and were later seen on
City TV and Rogers Cable.
It was also and honour to play at Ching's Black History Month
celebrations, where the reception was overwhelming.
Congratulations to the B-Town drummers for once again
representing our school with enthusiasm and character. A special
thanks goes out to our special guests, Nick, James and Praga for
helping us out at the basketball game.
We are also looking forward to a spring concert for parents that will
include all our fabulous Calderstone performers. Date to follow and
we hope to see everyone there

between The Peel Police and the
Chinguacousy Chiefs on February 8. They
also joined in the Black History celebrations at the Lancaster Public
School on February 18. Awesome job guys! Looking forward to
your So You tHink You Can Dance competition in April and
the Performing Arts Spring for parents at a date to be announced!
EcoSchools Update:
Litterless Lunch: Litterless Lunch Wednesdays are
coming to Calderstone. According to statistics, every
school child creates an average of 30kg of garbage per year. That’s a
lot of garbage every day that can easily be avoided. A litterless lunch
includes a reuseable lunch bag, reuseable lunch and snack
containers and reuseable drink containers. Items to avoid include
disposable drink containers like Kool-Aid Jammers or disposable
lunch containers.
- Bottled Water Free Day March 11 - Did you know that more than
25% of bottled water originates from municipal tap water? Did you
know that it takes more than 17 million barrels of oil to produce the
bottled water containers that we consume annually? On March 11,
schools and communities across Canada will be mobilising to take
action to ban the water bottle and reclaim public water. Make sure
your child brings a reuseable water container on Thursday March 11.
