accomplishments
This summer program is run by the Head Coach of
LaSalle’s Basketball Progam, Joe Dempsey.
Mr. Dempsey has been a member
of the English Faculty at LaSalle
for the past twenty two years and
has been the Head Basketball
Coach for eleven.
2013-14: The La Salle Explorers
made the PIAA State Playoffs for the
3rd time in five years. Coach Dempsey led the team to
its eighth consecutive playoff appearance in his ten
years as head coach. The Explorers earned a quarter
final win and also made a semi-final appearance at the
Palestra. La Salle currently has twelve alumni playing
college basketball at various levels. Perhaps more importantly, the team is involved in extensive community
service and has an 3.42 Grade Point Average. The Explorers made it the PIAA state championship while returning no starters from their 2013 team. The Explorers
are ranked #20 by USA Today in their pre-season poll.
Coach Dempsey currently has helped develop dozens
of college basketball players, and currently has alumns
playing at all three college levels, Division I, II, and III.
facilities
The camp is held at the beautiful LaSalle College High
School Campus. Campers get to experience playing at
a top-notch facility. This includes the indoor and outdoor basketball courts, the cafeteria and the camper’s
favorite, the campus pool. Everyday, after a hot day of
playing ball, the campers get to cool off swimming!
