Message from the Director, Rose Swidan
Hello everyone! I’m wishing you all a wonderful start to summer. Corpore
Sano Home Health Care is inviting you to come and join us for a Flag Day
BBQ following the ceremonies at the Senior Center and Senior Towers on
June 14th. The first ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. with lunch beginning
sometime after 11:00 a.m. Please RSVP if you are interested.
We are excited to roll out some new summer programs. Stop by and
participate in our new activities and games. Join the fun for another trip to see
the Tigers play the Royals on June 29th. The bus will leave at 10:30 a.m. and
seats are limited.
The Senior Olympics are here again! Anyone age 50 or older is eligible to
compete. Please submit your application here to the Center by June 30th!
We need to have a large team to represent our wonderful city. We provide
transportation on Opening Day. There is a nice breakfast served that
morning, followed by Opening Ceremonies and then let the games begin! There are a wide variety of
competitions like pie eating and a chili cook off, if sports aren’t your thing.
I hope to see you all very soon here at our Senior Center!
All my love,
Rose

Message from Mayor Burcroff
As the summer begins in Romulus, so do many of our exciting community
events and activities for residents of all ages. Summer is a great time to
explore all that Romulus has to offer while spending time with neighbors,
family and friends.
I hope you will plan to join us at all of the free community events including
our annual Flag Day ceremony at the Senior Center and Romulus Towers on
June 14, grab a lawn chair and join us on June 16 for our featured Movie in
the Park and again on June 23 as we kick off the summer music series in the
Historical Park. Closing out the month of June, gather family and friends as
we celebrate our Nations birthday during our annual Romulus Fireworks
display on Thursday, June 29.
Family fun and fellowship is the foundation of our City. It is what sets us
apart from our neighboring communities. I look forward to seeing you throughout the month as we
enjoy all that our Home of Opportunity has to offer.
Sincerely,
LeRoy D. Burcroff, Mayor of Romulus
Have old medical equipment or supplies?
Donate it to the Senior Center for those in need.
There are many seniors without insurance or coverage that may benefit from items
you don’t need anymore. Please feel free to drop them off at the Senior Center where
they will be distributed on a first come-first serve basis.
Items needed include: adult underwear/briefs (size L/XL most requested!), walkers,
wheelchairs, shower chairs, bandages, toilet seat risers, etc.
Too many grocery bags?
Are your plastic grocery bags taking up space in a drawer or cabinet? The Senior Center
is in need of clean, plastic grocery bags to help with packaging our monthly commodities.
Please drop them off at the front desk. Thank you very much!
