•Build relationships with local universities:
contact Career Center, Office of Field Instruction, Dean of related programs
•Formalize application process including background check and interview
•Have a job description. Ask MDT members what tasks they would allow interns to help with and then
decide what YOU will allow your interns to do.
•Check your liability insurance
•1 full day of MDT training
•1-2 full days on job duty
•Cover policies and procedures: dress code, use of social media, alcohol/drug policy, electronics use,
fraternizing, confidentiality, interns making home visit, meeting with clients
