GOUIN POOL
Birthday Parties
Have an unforgettable birthday party at our pool. All you have to do is
bring your guests for a splash in our pool. Reservations must be made
two weeks in advance, so hurry and book your party.
GOUIN POOL
Birthday Package: $11 per person
Includes pool entrance fee, two hours reserved area (party can stay at the pool
after the two hours for no additional charge), food (choice of pizza or hot dog,
both include chips and Kool-Aid).
Deposit is required when reserving a date.
POOL RENTAL
Finish one of those hot summer days with a dip in our
pool! Enjoy the pool with your friends and neighbors,
scout troop, ball team or fellow company employees.
Lifeguards available. Water slides, diving board and the
kiddie pool are yours to enjoy.
Pool may be rented on Saturday or Sunday evenings,
6:30-8:30 p.m. Pool may be rented for one or two hours.
Fee per hour: $175 In District/$325 Out of District,
$100 deposit required when reserving date.

A full service concession stand and
patio with tables offers soft drinks, ice
cream, candy, pizza, popcorn, nachos,
pretzels, and hot dogs. New healthy

Large shower and locker rooms with

Gouin Pool has an accessible wheelchair lift. If you need special assistance,
please see a manager.
Please Note: Patrons are not allowed
to bring food/drinks into the complex.
Inclement Weather
The pool will close for weather conditions such as lightning, tornados or if
the temperature is below 68 degrees,
or if there are less than 10 patrons in
the facility for an hour. NO REFUNDS.

SWIMMING
VPD SWIM ACADEMY
AGES 6 AND UP
Sign up for veterans Park District Swim Academy! All classes are taught by Ellis Certified Lifeguards and Swim Instructors.
This six level program will teach your child to develop their swimming skills and strokes. Each level will review and enhance
the skills your child has already learned and introduce them to new strokes and techniques.
Flip turns and endurance training are the main objectives of this level. In addition, racing starts from the blocks will be introduced. This class is a good preparation for children interested in joining the swim team.
Level 1 • Water Exploration
Focuses on supported front and back floating, beginning arm movements, an introduction of safety skills, supported kicking
on front and back, fully submerging face and more.
Level 2 • Primary Skills
Introduces unsupported floating with kicks, rhythmic breathing, freestyle, backstroke orientation, holding breath underwater and more.
Level 4 • Stroke Development
Provides a solid reinforcement of the foundation strokes. Breaststroke is introduced and sidestroke
is reinforced. Intermediate survival skills and water safety are a focus for this level. Basic diving is
introduced.
Level 5 • Stroke Refinement
Includes a review of backstroke, breaststroke, and sidestroke. Butterfly and surface dives are introduced. More advanced survival skills and water safety are also included in this level.
Level 6 • Stroke Proficiency

This class is for beginners as well as those looking to improve their
swimming technique. Everything from floating to freestyle will be
covered in this class! In addition to the basics, learn front crawl,
breaststroke, and backstroke.
Splash, splash! Join us in this fun parent–baby class! Learn how
to be safe in the water with baby, play games, sing songs and
begin to help your child learn to swim. This class will cover kicking, blowing bubbles, floating and other basic skills to introduce
your child to swimming.

Individual lessons provide one-on-one instruction for swimmers ages four to adult at any level. A participant may only sign

lesson will be permitted per session. Makeups are not permitted for missed or forgotten lessons. Individual swim lessons
may be conducted during regular open swim hours.
