In the lobby, a roaring fireplace, massive hewn wooden furniture and sleek furnishings suggest a playful cross between a peaceful lodge and an urban boutique hotel. The hotel is 100 percent smoke-free, a designation that won it an award Thursday from California’s Clean Air Project.” Sports Book Bill • Senate Bill 190, introduced in February by state Sen. Roderick Wright, an Inglewood Democrat, passed the Senate Governmental Organization Committee Tuesday with no dissenting votes. • The bill would allow sports book only in places that already allow legal gambling in California, such as card rooms, horse-racing tracks and tribal casinos.
