Desired Impact/Aims
Teaching and
Learning
1) All pupils are able to self-assess their work using clear success criteria
2) Lessons taught show a good balance of teacher-led and independent learning activities in
lessons
3) Children are aware of their expectations regarding their own learning and learning behaviours.
HOS Notes:
Lesson observations/book scrutinies showed a good balance in teacher led/independent
activities.
Guy Claxton’s learning muscles have been introduced weekly and the children are being
rewarded when these are noticed by staff and other children.
Self-assessment is being used regularly in key stage 1 and through a range of ways in key stage 2,
these are being shared during staff meetings.
Christian
Distinctiveness
1) To increase children’s understanding of global affairs/other cultures to allow opportunities for
children to reflect on global affairs with regards to Christian Values
2) Enhance procedures for monitoring/evaluating collective worship to ensure that it has a
positive impact
HOS Notes:
Some contacts have been given to Sidbury to work with schools in other countries.
Children’s Topic and RE work has been highlighting global affairs
RE is accurately being formatively assessed at the beginning and end of RE units of work, this is
informing future planning.
English
To raise standards through:

2) Introducing and familiarising staff with the new curriculum, particularly the progression of

HOS Notes:

reading materials in school. Nicola Cowling also attended our Parent’s evening and gave out
information about reading at home
Teachers have purchased resources to aid the teaching of guided reading.
