Air National Guard Family Readiness and Support:
The Family Readiness and Support Group started during Operation Desert Storm, when Traditional Guardsmen were called to active
duty status to support the continuing operations going on in the World. Since the Attacks of September 11, 2001 the National Guard has
been on alert for rapid deployments to the Middle East and other parts of the World. The National Guard has continually been called to
duty for extended periods of time beyond the normal two-week annual training per year. The Family Readiness and Support Group is a
volunteer organization whose mission is to provide help, training, and assistance to the families of our National Guard Troops, and to
help with the many issues that arise during deployments of our Guardsmen. The uncertainty of the safety of our loved ones during this
time can be overwhelming, both for the deployed and the families at home.
