Seetec DWP Community Work Placements Placements and Projects Framework Proposals Seetec is currently writing its tender responses for the DWP Community Work Placements (CWP) ITT released recently by the Department for Work and Pensions with a tender deadline of 5th December 2013. The CWP service is designed to support Work Programme completers (JSA and Universal Credit (full conditionality) claimants) who have failed to find sustainable employment through Work Programme provision and whose main obstacles to work are believed to include a lack of experience of the working environment. Participants will be referred to CWP by Jobcentre Plus and the successful provider will be required to deliver provide a wide range of meaningful and supervised placements, which are of benefit to the community and do not displace current jobs. The placements integrated with between 4 and 10 hours of job search per week for up to 26 weeks. The programme is expected to run from 28 April 2014 until 27th October 2016 with final referrals from JCP 31 March 2016. Suitable projects of community benefit will include group placements in either outdoor or indoor settings which come under the headings of, for instance, horticulture, regeneration, heritage, waterways, open spaces, and craft based initiatives. We believe that local authorities and housing associations, in particular, may have projects which already exist or could be set up to support local residents by building their work skills confidence and experience and the local community through delivering local projects which are of direct or indirect value to the community. It may be that you have existing projects which would benefit from additional manpower or that you have identified worthwhile community projects which have never gone ahead due to budget restrictions or lack of manpower.
