Environmental Certification for Construction activities at SHA The MDE Responsible Personal Certification (RPC) Erosion and sediment control training, known as the Responsible Personnel Certification (or formerly as the 'green card class'), is required in Maryland by anyone overseeing the installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment control practices. This Certification is available through an on‐line training course and can be accessed here: Maryland's Responsible Personnel Certification Course http://mderpc.mde.state.md.us/ There is no fee for the course and it should take 4‐5 hours to complete, although does not need to be done in one sitting. At the successful completion of the course, a certification number and card will be generated by the program. You may print out the card and/or save the file electronically. [email protected] The SHA Erosion and Sediment Control Certification “Yellow Card” The “Yellow Card” Certification is required by SHA by any person acting as a Superintendant or Erosion and Certification Manager on construction projects. The MDE RPC is a prerequisite for the Yellow Card training.
