Guessing Game Boards at Tabling Events

Guessing Game Boards at Tabling Events Description: Community and school events can be a great place to show teens the awesome stuff your library is doing. Guessing game boards are easy ways to create visually appealing displays that feature books prominently and look attractive and interesting. If you aren’t going to community events such as festivals, career days, school events, or gaming groups, chances are there are teens that you could be reaching but you aren’t! These boards could feature a number of teen book quotes, a number of teen book covers (minus titles), graphic novel or manga characters, movie characters, and more depending on the event and audience. Create the documents using Publisher or another desktop publishing program where you can create a document larger than 8.5” by 11.” For character guessing boards you can do a simple numbered board or an “I spy” type board. For a quote board use Goodreads to find popular teen book quotes and number them in different fonts and colors on your board for visual interest. If you have cool prizes make sure to set them out so teens can see them to attract them. Always stand or take short sitting breaks so that you seem more approachable.
