(April 23, 2014) – Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley and community volunteers are giving the Bay Point Library a fresh coat of paint April 28 ‐ May 2. As an ongoing effort to improve the facility, Habitat EBSV has partnered with Mount Diablo Unified School District and Contra Costa County Library to lead the construction and volunteer effort. Volunteers from Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) and other local groups will assist in renovation work to create a vibrant community space for residents. Improvements include repainting the interior and exterior of the 3,825 square foot facility, providing attractive new signage and replacing the library’s furniture. “This project is a great opportunity for Habitat, the Bay Point community, and local partners like PG&E to come together and improve such an important asset to residents,” said Janice Jensen, President & CEO of Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. “When we build homes or lead community improvement work in Bay Point, residents and volunteers are the ones who make it possible. We couldn’t do what we do without them.” With four days of work planned, May 1st is scheduled to be the largest volunteer day with 25 employees from PG&E in addition to local residents. The Bay Point Library is located on the campus of Riverview Middle School at 205 Pacifica Ave Bay Point, CA 94565.
