NES Pharmacy

Recruitment to Pre-Registration Pharmacist Scheme (PRPS)
posts commencing July/August 2012: Offer Process
Offers of Employment
Offers will be made from the 7th of September 2011 onwards and candidates awaiting an offer are advised to check
their emails daily from this date until the NES final deadline for acceptance of offers which is the 30th September
2011.
On receipt of an offer, successful candidates will have 48 hours to consider and then accept, hold or reject an offer
(thus withdrawing from the recruitment process.) The hold option will be available to candidates who are not matched
with their top choice of employer. Candidates may opt to hold an offer in case another post (higher preference)
becomes available. Please note that candidates who have applied for training posts outwith the NES Scheme may
also opt to hold an offer, however, they must notify NES as soon as possible should they accept a post
elsewhere.
Please be advised that, from receipt of an offer, you must make a decision by responding to your offer within
48 hours. Failure to respond to an offer will result in a withdrawal from the recruitment process.
The process of recycling of offers in waves will continue until 29th September 2011. No further recycling of offers will
take place after this date. The NES final deadline for acceptance of offers is 30th September 2011.
Confirmation of your final offer which you have accepted will be released on 5 th October 2011.
For further information on the offer process please refer to the tables below.
Wave one offer process
All candidates have 48 hours to respond to an offer. If a candidate fails to respond in the timescales stipulated it
will be assumed that the candidate has withdrawn from the recruitment process. Withdrawn offers will be reoffered to other candidates.
1
There are 3 possible responses to any offer in wave one, please see the implications of each response below:
Option A - Accept
The candidate is then excluded from any further re-cycling of
offers in the process and is considered to have committed to the
post offered.
Option B - Hold
Candidates may opt to hold the offer in case another post (higher
preference) becomes available or if they are awaiting notification
of an outcome of a post applied for outwith the NES Scheme e.g
in England.
Option C - Reject and Withdraw from the
Recruitment Process
Should a candidate reject an offer it is assumed that they have
withdrawn from the recruitment process and no further offers of
any kind will be made.
Further offers
Candidates who select the “hold” option, pending a higher preferenced post becoming available, described in Wave
one above, will be made a re-offer where a higher preference becomes available. If a candidate who has selected the
hold option is not re-offered by 29th September 2011, it will be assumed that the candidate will accept the offer made
to them in the first wave / previous wave.
All candidates have 48 hours to respond to any re-offers. If a candidate fails to respond in the timescales stipulated it
will be assumed that this second offer is withdrawn and the first offer will be considered to have been accepted and no
further offers will be made. It is therefore vital that candidates act within the 48 hour period to ensure they secure the
offer they prefer!
There are 4 possible responses to any re-offer made, please see the implications of each response below:
Option A - Accept the New Offer
If an offer of a higher preference becomes available, candidates
who have opted for the hold option in the first wave are given the
option of accepting the new offer within 48 hours. The candidate is
then excluded from any further re-cycling of offers in the process
and is considered to have committed to the new post offered.
Option B - Accept and Hold the New
Offer
This option will allow candidates to accept and hold the new offer
in case another post (higher preference) becomes available or if
they are awaiting notification of an outcome of a post applied for
outwith the NES Scheme e.g in England.
Option C - Reject the New Offer
This option allows a candidate to reject the new offer and accept
the offer made in wave one / previous wave. The candidate will
not be made any further offers and is considered to have
committed to the post.
Option D - Reject the new Offer and Hold
Previous Offer
This option will allow candidates to reject the new offer and hold
the offer made in wave one / previous wave if they are awaiting
notification of an outcome of a post applied for outwith the NES
Scheme e.g in England.
Note:
