Operators do not need to invest in high value LRUs. With regard to the minimum equipment list
(MMEL) stock holding, further assistance is at hand with the ATR option of leasing inventories.
A highly beneficial complement to the on-site inventory is the ATR’s Pool Access Service offering
“up-front” standard exchanges with guaranteed lead times for the delivery of LRUs.

A modular approach
The GMA concept is to offer as many solution as possible to airlines’ operational
maintenance contraints. Such concept was born out of ATR’s belief that each airline has

Well over one third of the total ATR fleet flies around the world with the GMA.
We have signed the GMA Agreement with ATR three
years ago. The main reasons why we have chosen the
ATR GMA program was:
• FIXED COST per flying hours
• SIMPLIFICATION OF LOGISTICS though a single
channel concept
• STANDARD EXCHANGE pool service.
At today after three years experience we can confirm
the benefits of the GMA agreement in terms of budget
estimate, cost control and global service guarantee.

Air Austral has been operating one ATR72-500 under
the ATR GMA since July 2000. An immediately obvious
benefit became the minimisation of “aircraft on the
ground” time. Indeed, the GMA support brings about
notable avoidance or reduction of delays.
Another appreciable advantage is the spare parts
supply guarantee and ease of access to ATR stock.
This relieves us from the costs and burden of LRU
management.
To conclude, from our experience, I would certainly not
hesitate in recommending the use of the GMA to other
ATR Operators.
