The Executive will deal with teams who have not paid by the 3rd game. Schedule Games will be played according to the schedule posted at the Bluewater Curling Club. Games start at 11:30 AM (or sooner if ice is Ready), and 1:45 PM. A team who is late and has not started play by 11:45 NOON will give up 2 points, the hammer, and start play in the 2nd end playing towards the glass. No games may start after 11:55 pm (due to lateness), at which time the default rule will apply. Team Rosters Each team may sign 7 curlers, 2 of whom may be between 16 and 19 years of age. Each team must provide a Team Roster sheet to the President by the 3rd game of the schedule. All curlers signed by a team may play any position on that team. A team may use spares at any time during the regular schedule. In the Playoffs a spare must be signed to any Team Roster sheet to be eligible to play. Spares must play Lead or Second. Scoring On the completion of each weeks scheduled game, the Vice-Skip of the winning team will record the score on the Score sheet provided. The Statistician will report the scores to the media. Point Structure A system of Wins, Losses and Ties will be used to determine standings. Two points per Win One point is awarded to a team that loses a tie-breaker Zero points per Loss Total points for the season will determine the Regular schedule Standings. Ties in the Standings will be broken by: 1. Most wins in the regular schedule 2. Outcome of Head-to-Head play 3. If still tied, Total Points scored in the regular Schedule will be used to break the Tie. Defaults A team that is unable to ice a 4 man team may curl with 3 Curlers. However 2 of the Curlers must be signed to that teams Roster sheet. Otherwise the game will be defaulted to the opposing team. There will be no rescheduling of games during the regular schedule or playoffs. All games must be played at their scheduled dates and times. Scoring for Defaulted games is as follows: Two points will be awarded to the non-offending team Zero points to the team in Default Any team that Defaults 2 scheduled games will be removed from the Schedule with no refund of fees. The previously played games will be scored as a Bye, with no points recorded. Playoffs The playoff match-ups for the first round are determined using the final standings for the regular season. The team that finished first will play the team that finished 9th. Team 2 will play team 10, and so on….The remaining rounds of the Playoffs will be an A, B, C, D event Format with the schedule being posted weekly. Any tie games in the Playoffs will be broken by a full end being played toward the glass. Ties – Regular Season At the end of 8 ends, if teams are tied, each team will receive one point. A second point will be awarded to the team that wins a tie breaker. Every player from each team will throw one rock, alternating between teams. Each rock will be thrown towards the glass with two sweepers and one man holding the broom. Any rock touching the button will receive 4 points, the 4 foot gets 3 points, the 8 foot gets 2 pts, and the 12 foot gets 1 pt. The team that gets the most points, wins the tie breaker. Ties – Regular Season (cont.) If the teams remain tied after everyone has played one rock, the teams will then select one player to throw a final rock. The closest to the button will determine the winning team. Four Rock Rule The League will play the Four Rock Rule, which states that any opponents’ rock cannot be removed from play in the Free Guard Zone until the fifth shot of the end. The Four Rock Rule allows either team to remove their own stones from the Free Guard Zone at any time. Hog Line Rule The throwing hand must be clearly FREE of the handle before the FRONT EDGE of the rock reaches the front edge of the near hog line. New Teams Wanting into the League Any new team wanting to come into the league must submit a written and dated request to the President. The executive will maintain a file for the requests.
