I wanted to take some time to update you on progress on the Rosters, ID Cards, Tournament Team Sign Up and Support. If you have any question please write back: BABE RUTH ID CARDS – Cards are now available for both regular season and tournament teams. This year leagues access the cards from the Baberuthleague.org account (Where they do the charter). Once they select ID Cards they have the option to pick players from either Regular Season Rosters or Tournament Teams. Once they pick, they can open rosters and select individual players or select all from each team roster. Once they have selected the number of cards they need, they will be prompted to select how they would like them shipped. USMAIL, UPS Ground, 2 DAY or Overnight. Also, they make payment by E-check or credit cards. Cards are shipped daily and of cards are ordered by 2pm EDT they are printed and shipped that day (M-F) TOURNAMENT TEAM SIGN UP – As we talked about at regional meetings this past fall and several emails since, tournament teams are required to sign up for the tournament trail. This is for all age groups of the tournament trail however only age groups that end in a World Series have a $25 fee per team (Except 16-18 baseball that is $75) A league can access the payment and sign up section via baberuthleague.org (where they do the charter) Select manage teams and for tournament teams select the tournament trail section. Teams can only be pay via credit card or e-check. Leagues are not able to mail in a payment. Once teams are signed up that will allow a league to “submit” tournament rosters and have them mark as submitted. ( A league can start to create rosters for tournament prior to payment in the SI- Play System but are just not able to “submit” until payment is made back in the league account. (Rosters NOT Submitted are marked clearly for tournament binders as NOT SUBMITTED). Leagues having trouble ? – As we expected the greatest challenge are the leagues that use the roster upload feature to put roster data in. These are leagues that are using CSV Files (Excel file) to enter. This feature allows for data teams, player and coaches to go in however it must be formatted properly or errors will happen and cause problems with the upload. This is no different than previous years with Babe Ruth Online however that reason does not offer support to the volunteers who are just trying to get things done. So here is the plan that we would like your help with. HEADQUARTERS STAFF – • Staff will start to email each league that has not submitted or started rosters for regular season play. o We will provide directions, links and help files for leagues o We will offer the league volunteer to schedule a time that they would like to work with a staff member. We will also look to have staff available after 5pm EDT to help volunteers with roster and other support (that is scheduled). o For leagues that just can’t seem to grasp concepts of working on the computer we will take the data and have it entered for the league, if the league that provides complete data. WHERE CAN WE HAVE YOUR HELP? As we sent out on October 1st we would like to have leagues know to not wait till the last minute to do rosters for regular season. Here some quick points • Review your commissioner account for rosters o Don’t see rosters for regular season 9 times out 10 they did not complete the prior day and there is nothing to show you. o Reach out to leagues and talk about your coming tournament trial and talk about doing rosters o For those leagues that in the past have needed help, they probably will need help again. Send me the leagues that you think need help and we will reach to them this coming week. o Leagues should call us at HQ’s who are trying to do CSV uploads. 800-880-3142 9-5 EDT. o Call HQ’s before calling SI-Play if they are CSV Upload league. Leagues that use online registration are largely complete and they can be easily supported by SIPlay. o Please email myself any updates or info you are coming across. The more specific you can be the better. League name, what they are attempting to do etc. This way we can work between our staff and SI-Play to move as quickly as possible to help them. We will report back to you any leagues you send us to let you know we resolved the issues. Remember this is the crunch time of year and volunteers are easily frazzled trying to keep the league running and preparing for tournament play to have the roster work to squeeze in. It is important to be positive and let them know that as a Commissioner that you will work to have HQ’s to help them get what they need. Usually when we get the league on the phone and start to explain how much easier it is compared to the items that were problems with Babe Ruth Online they start to understand it, feel better. We are going to be updating you often now over the next 4-6 weeks, so sorry for all the emails coming and hope to make them much shorter than this. My email and cell are available for any of you. Just let me know! Rob Connor
