Sub.:- Calling Nomination for the rescheduled vendor training of NIB-II, project-3 for first
phase and second phase training.
1. Data network circle is executing Project3 of NIB2. NIB2 consists of Project1,
Project2.1, Project 2.2 and Project3. Project 1(MPLS Based IP infrastructure), Project
2.1(Narrow Band Access (Dial up remote Access)) and Project 2.2 Broadband
Access (DSL Access) are already completed. Validation of Project3 is in advanced
stage. Project 3 caters for network components required for NIB-II messaging and
storage service platform, Operation support system(OSS) & Billing, Security
system & Enterprise management system in Data centers located in four cities viz
Bangalore(Main), Delhi, Mumbai and Pune ( Disaster Recovery center).
2. Vendor training of NIB-II, project-3 for first phase had been scheduled at ALTTC
Ghaziabad vide this office letter of even no dated October 16, 2006, a part of training
was completed and rest was postponed. Remaining training of first phase is
rescheduled and will be starting w.e.f from 19th February 07. Four target groups as per
annexure-1 have been identified for training.
3. Second phase of training of NIB-II project-3 for the group-2 (2-weeks), group-3(1 week)
and group-4(1-week) will also commence after completion of first phase. The training is
split into two phase in order to ensure minimal disruption of ongoing activities. The
same participant of phase-1 training of group-2, group-3 and group-4 should preferably
be nominated for the training of second phase training.
4. The consolidated schedule of training is given at Annexure-1. The details for target
population groups (i.e. Group-1, Group-2, Group-3 and Group-4) for the training of NIBII, Project-3 is given in Annexure 2, 3, 4& 5 respectively. The allocation of seats for
each circle is given at Annexure-6.
5. Notification for the course is already available on ALTTC website

Course Description :
The course deals with the overview of Project-3 NIB-II network elements including
Messaging , Storage Service Platform, Operation Support System (OSS) & Billing,
Security System & Enterprise Management System located in 4 cities viz. Bangalore,
Delhi, Mumbai & Pune (Disaster Recovery Centre). The course will cover the web
portal and help desk facility which will be provided under Project-3 NIB-II for
provisioning, billing, interaction with data services customers, fault escalation and
monitoring.
Learning Objectives :
Objective of the training is to help the Senior Executives of BSNL to understand the
services being offered under Project-3 NIB-II. After completion of the course Senior
Officers should be able to streamline the business operations, enhance revenue by
minimizing the cost of operations and are identified potential areas of business
development. The course will help to define the future road map in terms of IT which
includes convergent billing, sharing of networks, tying up with 3rd parties for business
development etc.
Target Population (Group) :
JAG officers & above (Senior Executive Management i.e. Target Group-1).
Prerequisites:

Course Description :
The course will cover detailed view of various sub systems supplied under Project-3
NIB-II which will help the NOC in-charges to locate the problem in the system. The
sub-system includes Tivoli alert monitoring, tape library, back up management, TCS,
VMS / ICOMS, Order Management, Inventory Management, Web Portal. End to End
service provisioning, basic trouble shooting, O & M, solution architecture and hardware
/ software details for O & M.
Learning Objectives:
Training shall be provided with the objective of detailed view of sub-systems, planning,
design & engineering, implementation and troubleshooting, , finding alternatives and
taking appropriate decision as and when required. It will help in implementation of
various business and technical requirement time to time as per our requirement.
Target Population (Group) :

Management Screens, Web-portal, Billing / Invoicing Payments, Account Receivables
& Collections, Physical Inventory Management, Trouble ticketing, Monitoring and
escalation, Tivoli performance monitor, Web-hosting/Collocation, Management
information System reports and End to End Service provisioning.
Learning Objectives:
The objective of this training is to provide detailed view of various modules mentioned
above in the course description which will help the NOC In-charges to troubleshooting
