Abdominoplasty Information
(Tummy Tuck)
GENERAL:
Aesthetic plastic surgery is an elective surgery you do not need, but want.
The key to success is to have realistic expectations.
During the consultation, you will discuss the issues that are of concern with Dr.
Neurohr and he will inform you what procedure(s) he feels will help improve
those
areas of concern.
WHY HAVE THIS OPERATION?
It is important to have the surgery for yourself! Your surgery cannot satisfy other
people’s desires or expectations.
This is your body! You need to feel comfortable with the changes that will result
from the surgery.
WHAT WILL USUALLY BE HELPED BY AN ABDOMINOPLASTY:
Excess skin removal
Excess fat removal
Abdominal muscle is tightened and separation repaired
Incisional hernia may be repaired
WHAT WILL NOT BE HELPED:
“Stretch marks”
Fat along the flanks
Muscle will not be strengthened
GOALS:
Improve body contour
Reduce abdominal bulge
Improve appearance both in and out of clothing
LIMITATIONS OF SURGERY:
It will not eliminate stretch marks
Generalized obesity cannot be corrected
Muscle strength will not be improved, but the resting tone of the abdominal will
can be improved
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
An abdominoplasty is usually a one (1) time surgery, however alterations in body
contour may occur as a result of aging, weight gain or loss and pregnancy.
